Customer Check and Reserve Service
Check Product Availability and Reserve for Collection
Check and Reserve allows customers to check product availability and reserve items for later collection via SMS. This reduces wasted trips to the store only to find that the desired item is out of stock.
Reserved items can be held for a specified period such as 24 hours before being returned to available stock. Where an item is not immediately available it can be placed on order and the customer advised when it will available for collection.
Phone and Web Integration
In addition to text polling of stock availability, the service can be enhanced by the addition of phone and online querying.
The Check and Reserve service works well in conjunction with a product catalogue which includes product reference numbers.
Example SMS Check and Reserve
| Customer sends an SMS with the catalogue number and store name to a mobile short code number e.g. A1234CR Reigate to 88199. | |
| Retailer replies with product availability, the price and the option to reserve the item. | |
| Customer responds to secure the item. | |
| If the item is out of stock then the customer can either place an order, or request to be informed when the item becomes available. | |
| The customer receives a reservation number which is used at the selected store's pick-up point to collect the item following payment. | |
| SMS messages are charged at the standard text rate. |
